This listing is for the stunning Aphrodite. Aphrodite is a Olympian Goddess from the Greek pantheon and is said to be a goddess of Love, beauty and fertility.
Aphrodite was born from sea foam, after Cronus castrated Uranus and threw his genitals into the sea. Our depiction shows Aphrodite wearing a sea foam coloured gown and pink cloak. A scallop and pearl tiara sits upon her head, to her side is a Swan, in her hand a golden mirror, below that the red roses often associated with her and in her other hand a golden apple.
The Swan is a symbol of grace beauty and love, a mirror a symbol of beauty and self love, the roses are a symbol of death and rebirth of nature. It was said that Adonis was loved by Aphrodite and when he was wounded by a boar a mixture of her tears and his blood gave the red rose its colour.
The infamous golden apple which was awarded to Aphrodite, which ultimately triggered the trojan war!
This beautiful Goddess figurine has been hand sculpted and hand painted, as such - no two are never exactly the same. As each goddess is made by hand, to order, there may be some minor variations in details, including the size, which is around 4 inches. Our Goddesses take time to sculpt, paint and varnish to which end we ask you to allow up to 5-6 working days for us to prepare your Goddess for delivery.
We are based in Wiltshire in the UK, near to our Spiritual home of Avebury, the White Horse and a short distance from Stone Henge. All the items you see on our pages are made, photographed and packaged by us.
