Merry Meet!
Welcome to Mercian Forest, a place where you will find everything to meet your Pagan needs.
This listing is for a altar tile depicting Arawn, from Welsh Mythology. Arawn is the king of the otherworld realm of annwn, a world of eternal youth, full of delight where disease is absent and food is ever abundant. Arawn is shown here with one of his white hounds, a large hound with bright red ears. It was believed the howling of these hounds foretold death to anyone who heard them.
Beltane and Samhain when the veil is at its thinnest are the prominent times of year when Arawn would be most relevant as a god of death, of the underworld. Some scholars have in fact linked him with Cernunnos as Arawn lead a hunt himself and is depicted with antlers.
This tile is available in two sizes, 7 to 8 cm and 9 to 10 cm please select your preference.
