Introducing a brand new Altar hanging, celebrating Litha, the Summer Solstice.
The Summer Solstice or Litha is the moment when the sun is at its peak, the longest day of the year. Days have been growing longer since the sun's rebirth at Yule and from this day forward will gradually get shorter until the sun wanes in power and we arrive once more at the Winter Solstice at the sun's rebirth.
This wall hanging is decorated with Sunflowers, a bonfire and a pot of honey all symbolic of this solar sabbat. Representing not only the suns solar energy and its bountiful gifts, but of the fires purification and transformation ability that allow us to leave behind the old and embrace the new.
The wall hanging has been made by us using a natural wooden slice with the bark still attached, the tile measures between 9 to 10 cm.
