Merry Meet!

Welcome to Mercian Forest, a place where you will find everything to meet your witchy needs!

Welcome to our listing for the stunning Circe Goddess Figurine.  Circe is a Greek Goddess, daughter of Helios the Sun God and oceanid nymph Perse.  According to legend Circe is a powerful sorceress and enchantress who had a vast knowledge of potions and herbs, through the her knowledge of these and use of her magic wand she would transform her enemies, or those who offended her into animals amongst these were wolves, lions and my  personal favourite pigs!  Lets face it, most of us would if we could!

I have sculpted Circe in an usual mix of colours, that may make sense as I explain them.  She wears a Yellow gown and golden sun crown.  This is in respect to her being the daughter of Helios,  orange spirals cover her gown complimenting the yellow both colours of fire symbolising not only her fiery nature but how fire transforms.

Circe wears a cloak of purple, the colour of Physicism a power Circe as a enchantress holds over others.  She holds a wand in one hand and holds a Moly herb as an Orb.

In Homer's Odyssey, it is said that Hermes gives Odysseus the herb moly (a plant that grew after Helios slayed a giant on Circe's island to protect her).  Hermes tells Odysseus this is to protect him from Circe's magic.  Odysseus arriving at Circe's island uses the Moly to not only protect himself but uses it to confront her and force her to release his men from pig form.

Circe impressed by Odysseus' resistance falls in love with him and allows his men to stay on her island for one year.

Moly is a symbol of protection against magic, but as this plant is strongly associated with her story how could I not include it!

This beautiful Goddess figurine has been hand sculpted and hand painted, as such - no two are never exactly the same.  As each goddess is made by hand, to order, there may be some minor variations in details, including the size, which is around 4 inches.  Our Goddesses take time to sculpt, paint and varnish to which end we ask you to allow up to 5-6 working days for us to prepare your Goddess for delivery.

We are based in Wiltshire in the UK, near to our Spiritual home of Avebury, the White Horse and a short distance from Stone Henge.  All the items you see on our pages are handmade, photographed and packaged by us.

Thank you for looking and Blessed Be )O(
