This listing is for the stunning Danu, the great mother - an earth mother goddess prominent in celtic mythology and stories of the Tuatha de Danann (the tribe of Danu).

Danu is shown here with gown of blue symbolising her association with water on her belly is a spiral that then unfolds into a flowing river or stream.  Her name itself, is derived from the meaning 'Divine Waters'.

Her cloak is green symbolising her connection to the earth, her faux wooden staff with leaves sprouting out of it just before it spirals represents life and renewal.  On the back of her cloak is a triskele, a symbol often attributed to her for wind, water, earth.

Upon her head sits a crown with a triple moon, the moon is associated with Danu for its connection to flowing waters and the celestial world.  The Triple moon acknowledging Danu as a Triple Goddess.

Danu to me encompasses both light and dark, she gives and takes back.  Her energy flowing much like a river she shifts like a current and sometimes becomes the tide.

This beautiful Goddess figurine has been hand sculpted and hand painted, as such - no two are never exactly the same.  As each goddess is made by hand, to order, there may be some minor variations in details, including the size, which is around 6 inches.
