This listing is for the stunning Hestia. In Greek mythology Hestia is an Olympian Goddess of Home, Hearth and Family. First born daughter of Cronus and Rhea, the titans, and sister of Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Hades, and Demeter to name but a few. She is the goddess who keeps the home fires burning when her siblings are away from Olympus. Hestia is a virgin goddess who was known for her kind and honourable nature. She dresses modestly and always wears a head veil. In times gone by she was the goddess that was offered the first and last of the wine during any celebrations, above even Zeus! Any sacrifices were made in her honour. Many still revere her and she has a place on many Altars or Fireplaces across the world. If she is a deity you call upon, this Altar statue would be a great addition to your Altar!
Our representation of Hestia, shows her wearing warm colours. She wears a burgundy dress and and burnt orange cloak with a golden trim, on her head a head veil of the same colours. In her hands to nurtures the fire of the Hearth.
This beautiful Goddess figurine has been hand sculpted and hand painted, as such - no two are never exactly the same. As each goddess is made by hand, to order your Hestia may differ, there may be some minor variations in details, including the size, which is around 4 inches. Our Goddesses take time to sculpt, paint and varnish to which end we ask you to allow up to 5-6 working days for us to prepare your Goddess for delivery.
We are based in Wiltshire in the UK, near to our Spiritual home of Avebury, the White Horse and a short distance from Stone Henge. All the items you see on our pages are made, photographed and packaged by us.
