Introducing Melissa ancient greek nymph, or Minor Bee Goddess.
This figurine has been hand crafted by ourselves in polymer clay, and features Melissa in a yellow gown and black cloak covered in pretty honey bees, her hair has been styled in a beehive and she is holding a staff in the shape of a honey dipper! I really had fun sculpting her!
Melissa was one of the nymph's that played a key role in the upbringing of Zeus. Not only did she hide him from his father Cronus, Melissa is said to have fed Zeus honey. Melissa is often associated with nurturing, protection and of course Bees!
Melissa is technically a minor goddess because of her parentage. All nymphs are minor deities in their own right and still acknowledged as the embodiment of nature and an an extension of the divine.
Each goddess is made by hand, to order, so there may be some minor variations in details, including the size, which is around 3.5 inches.
