Merry Meet!

Welcome to Mercian Forest, a place where you will find everything to meet your Pagan needs.

Welcome to our listing for a Nephthys goddess altar decoration

This goddess measures around 6 cm in height and is dedicated to the Egyptian Goddess Nephthys, the sister of Isis.  Nephthys was often paired with her sister for funerary rites because of both of their roles as protector to the god Osiris.  Nephthys is often associated with mourning, the night and darkness and is the protector of the dead.  She is a winged goddess and shapeshifts into a Kite, kestral or bird winged woman.  Nephthys was one of the original five gods born of the union of Geb (earth) and Nut (sky), after the creation of the world.  She is sometimes referred to as Lady of the House, which is the literal translation of her name.

Our representation of Nephthys has wings to help her fly souls to the otherworld, upon her head is a house with a basket on the top of it (the two hieroglyphs that spell her name) upon her left leg is an Ankh and to the other side her Was or Sceptre.  Nephthys is revered for her mastery of magic, healing, protection and spiritual guidance.

We have embedded a black onyx stone within the Goddesses belly.

Black Onyx is often referred to as a protection stone, many believe that it gives its bearer physical strength, perseverance.  Helps to overcome challenges and absorbs negative energy and aids grief,

Black Onyx magical uses mainly lie in defensive magic for protection against anyone directing negativity towards you.  Often worn when facing down adversaries in battles or conflicts!

As this piece is handmade, it is important to point out that each piece can vary slightly, but we believe this adds to the magic and makes each and everyone that little bit more special!

We are based in Wiltshire in the UK, near to our Spiritual home of Avebury, the White Horse and a short distance from Stone Henge.  All the items you see on our pages are handmade by us.

Thank you for looking and Blessed Be )O(
