Merry Meet!

Welcome to Mercian Forest, a place where you will find everything to meet your Pagan needs.

Welcome to our listing for a Tyche goddess altar decoration.

Our interpretation of Tyche has a Aventurine stone set within her belly and long flowing golden locks.  Tyche wears the city walls as a crown on the top of her head, has blue 'waves' caressing her curves and has outstretched wings.  She has a golden cornucopia full of coins on one thigh and wears a green symbol of the wheel of fortune on the other.  She is around 6cm tall.

Tyche is the greek goddess of Luck, fortune and prosperity.  She was once thought to not only represent personal fate, but the fate of communities.  There are two origin stories surrounding Tyche, one is that she was born of the Titan Oceanus and his consort Tethys.  The other story surrounding her birth attributes Zeus and Aphrodite.

The Greek historian Polybius believed that when no cause can be discovered to events such as floods, droughts, frosts, or even politics, then the cause of these events may be fairly attributed to Tyche.

Green Aventurine is said to emit a soothing energy, a stone of opportunity it attracts luck but it is said to allow one to move forward and embrace change.

Its magical correspondences are similar in that it also can aid chance magick by attracting luck and wealth, but it can also be used for healing.

As this piece is handmade, it is important to point out that each piece can vary slightly, but we believe this adds to the magic and makes each and everyone that little bit more special!

We are based in Wiltshire in the UK, near to our Spiritual home of Avebury, the White Horse and a short distance from Stone Henge.  All the items you see on our pages are handmade by us.
